... that I can't back-up individual songs/performances. I do take regular backups but invariably I just need to restore one performance and not overwrite ones which have been subsequently edited and I'm happy with. Does the KDx Editor do this? Many thanks.

I believe this has already been asked in a previous post and the feature may be on its way.

Push/pull performances is something that is definitely on the horizon, just as it already exists in KDx for the reface series.
