Sync failed - renewed sync

Something went wrong while syncing which I aborted. After that I see a performance name repeated now many times in kdx though fortunately not changed in the modx. How can I redo this sync operation?

Your answer (Kier) :
I don’t have an easy way to re-run the sync via the UI yet, but you can do it via the browser console while viewing the live set editor.

Enter this command exactly:KDx.Synth.showProgramNameSyncDialog()

Then press return and the sync dialog will appear

Hi, Took quite some effort to learn after a while that the Cubase 14 AI as provided with my yamaha, doesnt allow me to use in place editor or other tool too send sysex data.
Could this test also be done by using my other synth, the Yamaha Montage M, to send the cc messages to the Modx ?

Hi Edwin - you don't need to send any sysex here, but if you have a Montage M at your disposal, so much the better - we can definitely use that to send program changes.

Do you know how to get your MODX and MONTAGE M connected such that the MONTAGE M can play the MODX, while the MODX is connected to KDx? If not, let me know and I'll give you some pointers.

hi @Kier . Took finally the time for some proper testing

My findings:
- Changing LSB and program number via MOntage M to switch between user performances worked as described
- However once selected bespoke performance via MODX buttons, switching to other performances with same program changes did not work anymore
- Same also when selecting same performance but via program change
- After then using the up or down hardware button to select another performance , program changes worked again as long not this cursed performance is selected
- After more experimentation I found out that this is the case with at least 2 more user performances in the LSB 32 range
- Syncing hasnt worked yet after another atttempt

(small extra note; from curiosity I tried KDX with the Montage M, where retrieving the user Setlist data stalled and does deliver any result. Should be independent from this MODX case and could be treated as such. I would like to focus rather on Modx where I envisioned use of KdX the most)

@Kier does this gives any clue or direction for how to continue?

@edwinvanrutten I've been necessarily away from KDx for a few days, but I am back now and actively trying to work out what is going on.

For what it's worth, I have even had @HaPe grab your performance from Soundmondo to test, but he was unable to reproduce the problem.

I'll keep you posted with any findings, but until then, may I suggest that you delete the offending performance from your synth and try to run the KDx performance sync without it, then sync it back to your synth from Soundmondo? Let me know how you get on.
