Seqtrak new firmware

HI!
New SEQTRAK firmware available! I wonder if the new features will be implemented in the KDx editor, in fact, every drum part can now be converted to Synth part, potentially converting the Seqtrak in a multitimbral synth!

When I learned about the upcoming changes to Seqtrak a few weeks ago, I was so excited - this is huge!

Now that the new firmware is public and I can talk about it, I have an update for KDx that allows all the tracks to be edited when they are switched to Synth mode using the Seqtrak app or hardware - I have just deployed the update, and it's available right now.

Next week, I will work on a further update to allow you to change the track types within KDx, and maybe even enable editing of Drum and Drum Kit types too - watch this space!

So, it turns out that Drum tracks are actually just single element AWM2 tracks - so these are handled already. Therefore, the changes I need to make are:
  1. Disable elements 2-8 for drum tracks
  2. Enable track type detection and switching
  3. Enable drum kit track type editing
... and that should be it :)

…and it seems that drum kits are just seven element AWM2 parts, so actually, everything already works!

Looking forward to this.

I have a MODX and SEQTRAK - and like to use the SEQTRAK more.
It is amazing what your editor is already offering.

But i would love to see some more features
a.) Being able to select sounds / projects from the UI.
b.) Support Patch Management (load and save custom sounds - esp. the App is very week. Now with the Drum Kits even more
b.) Part Settings
- Support for Chords is missing
- Support for ARP.
I know that is a long wish list, but if you need one to test things out let me know. Happy to help.

I'm not sure that project loading is available via MIDI control, but I will certainly investigate that.

Patch management is something I have coming up - it will have to store your patches to KDx itself, as SeqTrak doesn't have the ability to save custom patches outside of its projects.

Chords and arp management is not something I'm planning to implement as an immediate priority, but I will certainly look to see what's possible.

I guess you editor is using Bulk Messages (at least on Receive). I assume you currently reading only the Project Edit Buffer. But i guess you will see that in the SEQ Track you address all Projects, Sounds and Sampler. What needs to be test how well / stable it is to dump data via sysex. For some patches it seems to work. Not sure for full projects with sampled data.
But for now to me AWM2 and DX patches would be sufficient.

Actually can the SEQTRAK has user slots you can save sounds and sample elements using the Bulk Control Address.
E.g. User Sound Slots are between the addreses "03 00" till "12 FF".
You can monitor that if you use the SEQTRAK up loading additional Sounds into the device.
I ran a view few test bulk receive patches i created on SEQTRAK in a project and than dumped it with a new patch name into the user slot.

I understand, i guess here the difference between SEQTRAK and MODX/MONTAGE Familie is the bigger.
The SEQTRAK has fairly straight list of ARP settings with ARP Template. The Montage/MODX family is way more involved, with having mulitple arp slots per sound.
The issue is that the APR settings on the SEQTRAK are quite tedious to get to and if we switch the patch the APR settings are gone. And than tough to get back. In the MODX/MONTAGE you can switch sounds and define if you want to keep the current ARP or if you want o load the sound with the ARP in the patch. That is unfortunately not an option on the SEQTRAK Device or App.
